Production
Sand Land is based on the gem short story drawn by Akira Toriyama of “DRAGON BALL” and “Dr. Slump”, which continue to be loved across generations and borders. Sunrise studios, which has worked on many works such as the “Mobile Suit Gundam” and “Love Live!” series, the opening video of the TV anime “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” series etc. The movie ‘Sand Land’ was produced by three companies specializing in high-quality 3DCG anime and was released in theaters in the summer of 2023. The film won the Special Jury Prize at the 2023 Fantasia International Film Festival, and has been screened at overseas film festivals such as the Sitges International Film Festival of Catalonia, where it has been well received.

Sand Land story synopsis
The first half of the trailer is set in a desert world Sandland where the king controls the water and people suffer from a long-standing shortage of it. The story shows the journey of the demon prince Beelzebub, the human sheriff Rao, and the demon Thief who serves as the prince’s go-to to find the “phantom spring”. From the movie version released last summer, new additional cuts that can only be seen on Disney Plus have been added. It will further enhance the excitement of Toriyama’s world and the power of the action scenes!
Brand New Story: ‘Angel Hero Arc’
At the end of the trailer, the new chapter “Angel Hero Arc” will finally be unveiled for the first time. In a completely different area, Beelzebub meets Meunier, an angel without wings and Anne, a mysterious girl who skillfully rides a motorcycle. It is a new story devised by Akira Toriyama for the first time in about 20 years, and the trailer raises expectations for how they will be involved.
