Joker 2 is unconventional, brutal and brilliant
It has been known for a long time that a lot will change in “Joker 2” – for example that there will be musical interludes. After all, it was not for nothing that the role of Harley Quinn was cast by pop superstar Lady Gaga. She is following in the footsteps of Margot Robbie (“The Suicide Squad”) and Kaley Cuoco (“Harley Quinn”) . The first voices after the test demonstrations now definitely take up this aspect, even if they ultimately don’t go into too much detail – which is more than understandable. At this point, there isn’t even a trailer for the film, let alone an official detailed synopsis!

The surreal, chaotic moments, on the other hand, are like the vocal interludes: These do not set the tone, but are simply interspersed scene by scene. “Famous figures appear,” it also says – although it is unclear who this means. In addition to Phoenix and Gaga, “Joker” returnee Zazie Beetz as Sophie Dumand as well as Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson , Steve Coogan and Ken Leung will also be there in previously unknown roles.
Because with the box office hit behind Joker 2, Warner Bros. not only had complete confidence in the sequel, but also invested significantly more money in it. The production costs of the movie are said to be a whopping $200 million. In comparison, the predecessor cost peanuts ($55 to $77 million).
