Fan favorite Jim Hopper (David Harbour) didn’t have it easy in the Netflix hit “Stranger Things”. Eleven’s foster father (Millie Bobby Brown) was captured by the Russians in season 4 and put in a rather frosty prison in Kamchatka. After his escape, the good guy looked pretty battered.

Now, Netflix has released an official behind-the-scenes photo of David Harbour as Jim Hopper in season 5. The policeman seems to be doing much better. But that’s not surprising, because according to previous information, a lot of time should pass between seasons 4 and 5 – as you can also see from Hopper’s new beard. However, you should not completely disregard the possibility that the beard will still be trimmed for filming.

A sign of life from the “Stranger Things” production is all well and good, of course – but when will the fifth season finally start on Netflix? With Matt and Ross Duffer’s series, there are always long waiting times between seasons, which has become more and more of a problem lately, as the series has youthful lead actors who grow after all. Hence the larger time jump to season 5, of which it is not yet known how long it will last.

Season 5 of “Stranger Things” certainly not until 2025

Season 4 was released on Netflix in the summer of 2022. The next season is currently being filmed, as the photos from the set currently circulating on the internet show. The shooting will continue for another nine whole months. That’s what Millie Bobby Brown recently announced on The Jonathan Ross Show, where she was a guest to promote her new Netflix movie, “Damsel.” Thus, season 5 would be filmed until the end of the year, and then several months of post-production would follow. Thus, we expect the Netflix launch of “Stranger Things” season 5 at the earliest in mid, if not the end of 2025.

In addition to Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven/Jane and David Harbour as Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard as Mike, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas, Noah Schnapp as Will, Winona Ryder as Joyce – and Sadie Sink as Max Mayfield, who is in a coma. His fate is one of the big cliffhangers between seasons 4 and 5. Fans are eagerly waiting for the return of their beloved series
